Red & Black offers more online

How much time did you spend online?
We're willing to bet most University students spend more time reading blogs or surfing YouTube than browsing a daily newspaper. And we don't blame you - the Internet is quick, accessible and seemingly endless.
In addition to providing the world with great celebrity gossip or funny videos, the Internet also offers newspapers countless opportunities.
We can't publish videos, podcasts and sound clips in our print version. And as hard as we try, we can't always make all the news fit in the space we have, either.
But, The Red & Black is getting with the times. Throughout the semester, check out redandblack.com for constant University and Athens-related news.
All the stories from the print version will be there, as well as many complementary features. We're hard at work getting audio, video, slideshows and documents online to better serve our readers.
Our enthusiastic sports staff already has gotten on board with their blog, Sanford Knows Best. We're proud to call the No. 1 football team in the nation our own, and we are doing anything and everything to keep readers aware of the latest news.
We have daily updates, including video clips or photos from practices, extra interviews with players and sound clips from athletes and coaches. Visit blog.redandblack.com/sports for all the offerings from our First & Goal reporters.
As excited as we are about the upcoming season, football is not the only thing we're blogging about. From fashion to Greek life to extra photos, The Red & Black's best and brightest will be blogging constantly. We're going to continue to add more blogs in the next few weeks. If there's a topic you're interested in that we're not covering, be sure to let us know.
We're also going to continue to incorporate complete listings of what's happening in downtown Athens via interactive maps complete with details and photos.
Do you Twitter? The Red & Black does, too. For brief updates, follow us at twitter.com/redandblack. We'll be twittering breaking news throughout the semester, and hope the updates will be a valuable resource for our audience.
And, because we know most college students can't fathom a world without Facebook, The Red & Black now has its very own page. Become a fan simply by searching for us - we'll be utilizing Facebook's various features throughout the semester to keep our readers in the know.
We want to include the entire University community in our online adventures.
You can break news by e-mailing photos, video or audio clips to editor@randb.com or me@randb.com.
If you're interested in learning how to shoot videos or record audio for redandblack.com, we would love for you to get involved. Our office on top of the Baxter Street hill might seem intimidating, but we're all students here just like you. Please stop by to join our team.
If there's something you think we could do digitally that we haven't thought of, let us know. We're always looking to improve and will be adding more and more features as the semester progresses.
