Offensive line ready for gameday

With questions about the offensive line continuing to be brought up every day at practice, head coach Mark Richt said, if the season started and Georgia Southern came to town "tomorrow," he'd feel pretty comfortable with the line configured the way it is now.
"I would say certainly if we started tomorrow it would be (Kiante) Tripp at left tackle, (Vince) Vance at left guard, (Chris) Davis at center, Cordy (Glenn) at right guard, and Josh Davis at right tackle," he said. "It seems like they're starting to sink into that little lineup right there."
With Clint Boling due to return after serving a one-game suspension against Southern and still several practices until opening kickoff, however, Richt did say the lineup he's had out there the past several days may not be the one fans will see come Aug. 30.
"It's not really a big secret to me, I don't really care if anyone knows what our starting lineup is. The way I say it, it's because I'm still not sure that's the way it's going to end up, but that's where we'd be if we played today or tomorrow."
Richt also said he's seen improvement from Ben Jones, Tanner Strickland (who missed practice Tuesday with what Richt called a foot sprain), Boling, Kevin Perez, Ben Harden, and Richt went on to praise freshman Cordy Glenn in depth.
Richt said that Boling would "more than likely" be at right tackle when he returns for the Central Michigan game.
"We've been doing a little scout team work. Georgia Southern is different from us in what we do offensively, and they're very different from what we do defensively. So we've got to take time to prepare. Usually we wait until about 10 days out but we started about two weeks out because of the respect we have for them and their program and also because they're so different from us."
"We've got to work hard on schemes as much as technique right now."

Team prepares for Georgia Southern
Richt said scout team preparations for Georgia Southern started a little bit earlier than usual this year."We've been doing a little scout team work. Georgia Southern is different from us in what we do offensively, and they're very different from what we do defensively. So we've got to take time to prepare. Usually we wait until about 10 days out but we started about two weeks out because of the respect we have for them and their program and also because they're so different from us."
