Students should never again have to worry about an imperfect resume ruining their chances at the perfect career. The University's Career Center is hosting several workshops this semester devoted to perfecting your resume in a series called "Terry Working Lunch: Crafting a Killer Resume."
Each workshop features various employees and alumni that share their efforts and advice with students in order to assist them in creating a resume according to Michelle Carter, the assistant director for employee relations and a Terry College career consultant.
Today, Arian Williams, a recruiter for Target, will host a workshop focusing on the basic steps and common mistakes of resume writing.
Students are encouraged to bring their resumes to the workshop in order to make adjustments or ensure that they have taken the proper steps.
For added incentive, attendees who RSVP for the "Terry Working Lunch" event on Facebook will dine on fried and grilled Chick Fil-A sandwiches, according to the Career Center.
"Students can always come to the Career Center call office to schedule an appointment to speak with a career consultant," if they can't attend the workshop, Carter said.
Career Consultants can answer any questions students may have about their resumes and offer guidance in other career-related problem areas.
Five to ten minute walk-in sessions are also available for students who are short on time and need quick help.
In addition, the Career Center offers "satellite hours" on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Sanford Hall Coca-Cola Lounge for Terry students.
Today's session will be held in room 150 in the Student Learning Center from 1:25 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
