Richt worried about depth

Though Georgia has the number of players to provide depth, head coach Mark Richt said he's a little worried about the experience those players can provide.
Richt mentioned the offensive line again as a spot where depth might be an issue early in the season.
"Everybody has enough players, but how many experienced players is what we're talking about," Richt said. "When you look at our next three guys to play at offensive line, it's three freshmen. Two redshirt freshmen and a true freshman. That's zero experienced depth and even some starters with no experience."
Richt also expressed his concern for the safety position, especially since redshirt sophomore Quintin Banks is still out with a knee injury.
"Safety could become an issue in a hurry if we had something happens," Richt said.
"I think we're doing a fine job of evaluating talent and hitting on a high percentage of the ones we're going after," Richt said. "I don't know what the record is across the country but if you want to write a story, write it on how many guys make official visits and of those how many commit and sign with Georgia."
For the 2009 class, Georgia has 13 verbal commits - 14 if 2008 recruit Toby Jackson is counted toward the 2009 group.
"I forgot the number now of how many you can bring in on any given year," Richt said. "We haven't even come close to bringing in the number of guys on official visits that we can bring in because we've hit on a high percentage of guys we're going after."
Richt's son John, who is a quarterback for Clemson, will take on Alabama in Atlanta Saturday night. As of now, John is behind Clemson quarterbacks Cullen Harper and Willie Korn on the depth chart.
"If he dresses then I'm going to do everything in my power to be there," Richt said.

Many recruits make official visits to Georgia
Recruiting has been very kind to Richt lately, as he commented on the fact the Bulldogs are landing a high percentage of recruits who make official visits."I think we're doing a fine job of evaluating talent and hitting on a high percentage of the ones we're going after," Richt said.
