Georgia volleyball coach Joel McCartney will have to wait until Sunday for another shot at 300.

Georgia fell to rival Georgia Tech 3-1 Friday night at the Ramsey Center. The Bulldogs fought hard in the first set, turning down five straight Georgia Tech set points, and eventually having two set points of their own, before losing the set 33-31.

In the second set Georgia fought back to what it thought was a tie score at 22, but a disputed out of bounds call gave the point to Tech, who took a 23-21 lead, and went on to win the set 25-22.

The third set saw the Bulldogs rely more on the power of Maria Taylor as she gave the Bulldogs their first set win, 25-22.cIn that set, Taylor had six kills, equaling her total from the previous two sets.

But the fourth quarter belonged to the Yellow Jackets as they went up 21-15. The Bulldogs fought back but couldn't pull any closer than a two point deficit before falling 25-22.

Georgia will continue play in the Georgia Invitational Sunday when they face Furman and Georgia State, at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively.
