If you're looking for a career in politics, two local politicians will be on hand tonight to share their secrets to success during the College Republican's "Career in Politics Panel."

Featured panelists include District Attorney Scott Ballard of the Griffin Judicial Circuit and the Athens Congressman Paul Broun's campaign manager, Jordan Chinouth.

"Each panelist will be given the opportunity to explain in detail their career and what a typical day is like for him," said Allyson Wright, political director for UGA College Republicans. "Most importantly, they will discuss ways in which one may become involved in their respective career."

Tonight's panel is the latest in a string of similar events sponsored by the College Republicans. Past events have helped participants land student internships and also served as an opportunity for students to gain experience in the field and meet like-minded individuals, Wright said.

"Being active with the College Republicans proves to be an effective way for students to have a positive impact in the political community and establish many lasting friendships," she said. "In addition, students are granted the opportunity to meet many influential political figures."

The panel, followed by a question and answer session, will be held tonight at 7 in room 214 of the Student Learning Center.
