'Everybody Wants to Be Italian'
Rating: RComedy
Starring: Jay Jablonski, Cerina Vincent, John Kapelos
Even though it has been eight years since Jake's girlfriend left him, he refuses to move on until his friends set him up with a beautiful Italian woman (Vincent).
The only problem is he doesn't believe she would ever date a non-Italian. Desperate to make their friend let go of the past, Jake's friends decide to put him through a crash course in faking one's ethnicity in order to get the girl.
Prediction: Probably more or less the Italian version of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," but colliding cultures always have the potential to be hysterical and this example should not be any different.
'Bangkok Dangerous'
Rating: RAction
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Shahkrit Yamnarm, Charlie Yeung
Nicolas Cage plays Joe, a cold-hearted assassin who is sent to Thailand to execute four enemies of a ruthless crime boss.
During the mission, he befriends his hired help, a young boy named Kong, and falls in love with a local shop girl.
Because of these relationships, he begins to doubt his lonely lifestyle and open up, just as his boss decides it is time to tie up loose ends.
Prediction: An action movie that is not just about blood, guts and gore will be a welcome change from the empty "shoot'em up" films of the summer.
'Righteous Kill'
Rating: RAction
Starring: Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, 50 Cent
Academy Award winners Robert De Niro and Al Pacino star as New York City police detectives investigating a spree of vicious serial killings.
Through the investigation, it becomes apparent that the killer is attempting to clean up the streets by targeting criminals who have slipped through the cracks of the court system.
The two detectives must face the question of whether they put the right men in prison and solve the case before being allowed to hang up their badges and retire.
Prediction: The all-star cast should ensure characters with depth and 50 Cent playing a criminal is just the icing on the cake.
