A.J. Green joins the elite
Freshman receiver A.J. Green was named Southeastern Conference Freshman Player of the Week on Monday, his second such honor this season.Green caught the game-winning touchdown in Georgia's 17-13 win over Auburn Saturday, a week after he did the same in the Bulldogs' 42-38 thriller over Kentucky.
Green leads the conference in receiving yards per game with 80.7, and would be the first freshman to lead the SEC in receiving since 1999. He would also be the first Georgia player to do so since Brice Hunter accomplished the feat in 1994.
If he registers 113 more yards through the air this season between the matchup with Georgia Tech and Georgia's bowl game, the Somerville, S.C., native would join Terrence Edwards (2002) as the only other Bulldog to record 1,000 yards receiving in a season.

While we didn't meet the high expectations set at the begining of this year, we could still end strong! We need Stafford and Moreno back to finish the drill behind a healthy deep o-line in 2009. (Continued…)
