Flash Flood Warning

On June 8, the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood warning for parts of Athens-Clarke County. 

The rain caused the events to be rescheduled at the annual Hot Corner festival. The dedication of the Hot Corner mural has been postponed. 


On June 8, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City placed parts of Athens-Clarke County are under a Flash Flood Warning at 11:02 a.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday evening.

Affected areas include Barrow, Clarke, Madison and Oconee Counties.

With heavy thunderstorms and 7 mph winds, NWS expects “rounds of heavy rainfall,” with two to three inches potentially occurring in a short period of time.
