Five Years of Live Wire Athens

Local Athens Venue plans to ring in a milestone anniversary with a big musical lineup and old-fashioned southern hospitality.

Athens, Ga. January 18, 2020 - The Robertson Family will host a specially curated live music event and fundraiser for Nuçi Phillips Memorial Foundation on Saturday of MLK weekend in celebration of rounding 5 years of local business and community relationships.

On Saturday January 18, 2020 at 3:00PM, attendees of all ages will gather downtown at Live Wire Athens 227 W Dougherty St Athens, Ga 30601 to support Nuci’s Space and enjoy live music and barbecue (vegan option available). The Robertson Family, owners of Live Wire Athens, have organized a fundraiser with a  familiar musical lineup guaranteed to draw the aficionados of the Athens Music Scene and live music advocates. Headlining group, The Grateful Brothers (Greenville, SC), will play the closing block from 8:00PM-11:00PM, preceded by the jazzy funk trio freshly known as Harvey Funk & Walker (Athens, Ga) as support. Shortly, after the three o’clock door opening, country-rock pickers Heart of Pine (Athens, Ga), will accompany the complimentary barbecue. Also, special appearances have been arranged with Moon Chief (Atlanta, Ga), Valerie Raye (Nashville, TN), and perhaps a collaborative surprise guest or two, to make the experience unique.

The Robertson Family wants to kindly thank the community of Athens for the continued support of Live Wire Athens, spanning five years and beyond. Attendees are encouraged to taxi to and from the event as parking is limited to paid curbside spots along the nearby blocks, but also because you should go and have the time of your life. This event will end early enough to catch other late-night happenings in the area. Tickets are currently on sale for the low price of $10.00 (fees are covered)!
