Stately homes and historic structures from the early 1800s still stand in Cobbham, historically known as Athens’ first suburb. The area extends roughly from Prince Avenue down to Hancock Avenue.

Eat and drink

The Grit — A classic vegetarian spot, popular with omnivores, too.

Daily Groceries Co-op — Pick up pre-made sandwiches, snacks and groceries at this community-operated food spot.

Hendershot’s — Houses both a coffee shop and a full bar. While the inside remains closed, patrons can still enjoy the patio and to-go service.
