Just beyond the “Loop,” this area contains of mix of old homes, new developments and apartment complexes. Convenience to campus and the Veterinary Teaching Hospital makes this area popular with students and faculty alike.

What To See and Do

Southeast Clarke Park — Sprawling over 124 acres, it contains everything from a dog park to a BMX/skateboard trail to nature paths. Kids love the splash-pad playground.

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia — Contains formal gardens areas as well as miles of trails. New: A children’s garden.

Where to Eat and Drink

Choo Choo — Budget Japanese-Korean foods, open until 3:45 a.m.

Craft Public House — This gastropub carries local beers on tap.

Mannaweenta — This Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurant offers traditional cuisine such as doro wat, a spicy chicken dish.

Sweetie Pie by Savie — Stop by for a quick coffee and scone — or order an entire cake for your next big event.
