Athens Land Trust hosts its annual Juneteenth celebration at West Broad Farmers Market on Saturday, June 15. The historic holiday marks the day that slaves across the South were finally set free. While in the past the celebration has brought in hundreds of attendees, this year’s crowd was small by comparison. Nonetheless, the celebration had live performances and plenty of food provided by the farmers market.
