Campers at Canopy Studio's summer camp have been packing a few extra items in their bags this year. The non-profit aerial dance studio requires children to wear a mask while indoors and provide their own water and snacks. Kids are brought outside for "mask breaks" when needed. Trapeze bars and mats are cleaned after each use, and campers sit in areas taped off for social distancing. During snack time, all campers go outside and leave space between any other campers.
The camp is set up in a pod model, meaning groups travel between stations with one teacher and stay within that group all day to minimize crossover between groups. The week ends with a Friday showcase that is recorded and sent to parents, as spectators and family members are not allowed inside the studio at the time.
