David Bryant, a 30-year resident of the Pulaski Heights area and past president of Historic Athens, led visitors on a heritage walk through the historic Pulaski Heights neighborhood on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, in Athens, Georgia. Attendees were taken through the start of the area in the mid-1800s around the railroad and commerce industry as a mixed-use neighborhood. As the tour went on, the discussion led to more recent history and architecture, eventually leading to the new wave of modern design led by recent resident and architect Lori Bork Newcomer. The group was then invited to a reception with lemonade and homemade cake at Bryant and his wife Cassie’s home across the street for more discussion, despite exceeding the hour and a half scheduled time by 45 minutes.
