The United Campus Workers of Georgia is holding a week-long protest demanding the University of Georgia implement a mask and COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The Wednesday protest in front of the Tate Student Center included speakers such as UGA student Suvitha Viswanathan and Athens-Clarke County Commissioner Mariah Parker advocating for these mandates and for the health of the UGA and Athens communities. A group of about 100 protesters gathered around them holding various signs depicting their discontent with the university’s policies. The protests will continue on Thursday and Friday this week.
