Athens Pride, a non-profit organization that promotes community, fellowship and support for all LGBTQ+ issues in the greater Athens area, hosted its first ever Athens Pride Soiree at the Georgia Museum of Art on June 6, 2019. The soiree was a summer celebration of Athens Pride and had special guests Athens’ Mayor Kelly Girtz and Georgia Representative Sam Park, the first openly gay man to serve in the Georgia General Assembly. The evening was filled with live music from the Mary Sigalas Quartet, a three course meal and an open bar for all its guests.
