The Davenport-Benham Black Law Students Association marched with Athens for Everyone, the Athens Anti-Discriminaiton Movement and the Crisis in Black Education from the Arch to City Hall to protest and speak on their list of goals on Sept. 4, 2020, in Athens, Georgia.
The demands included COVID-19 management, scholarships for Black descendants of slaves and Linnentown, the renaming of UGA buildings with racist history, to end qualified immunity and to shift resources away from police and into the community. The group chanted as they walked down the streets of the city, and several speakers addressed the crowd once they arrived at City Hall.
