Georgia U.S. Representative Doug Collins visited Memorial Hall to speak with students ahead of Election Day on Oct. 26, 2020, in Athens, Georgia. The event was hosted by UGA’s Turning Point USA. Collins was introduced by several speakers including the Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture, Gary Black, as well as Dr. Wayne Johnson, another candidate in the same race that told attendees not to vote for himself, but rather to vote for Doug Collins.

Later in the day, Jon Ossoff visited downtown Athens to hold an outdoor gathering to speak with community members about his upcoming Senate race against incumbent David Purdue. Attendees waited in line to take photos with Ossoff, get their campaign signs signed and get individually greeted with elbow bumps from the candidate.
