UGA spring 2020 graduates and families gathered for a delayed, socially distanced commencement ceremony on Oct. 16, 2020, in Athens, Georgia. Students and families were allowed to the graduation while faculty and most college deans were not permitted.

Families were spaced in the same way that football games are; most sat in places with seat backs reserved for their respective graduate. Event staff frequently walked around the seating areas holding signs reminding participants to wear their masks and remain six feet apart.

Speakers included University President Jere Morehead, student and 2020 graduate Jack Bush and Victor Wilson, vice president of student affairs. College deans and UGA Alumni Association President Brian Dill spoke virtually.
