The West Broad Farmers Market offered a drive-thru pick up system for customers who ordered ahead to keep contact minimal as a precaution to COVID-19 on June 27, 2020, in Athens, Georgia.
The market had the most orders in this format so far, nearing 100 pre-ordered packages of produce and other market items. The West Broad Farmers Market plans to return to normal as soon as it can be done safely, but will continue offering the online pre-ordering option. In addition to the market, a garden is under construction for community members to participate in to improve access to fresh produce to those who may struggle to obtain it.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the West Broad Farmers Market shifted its operations in spring 2020, taking advance online orders and offering drive-thru pickup. While this increased sales and customer reach, the market's goal is to re-open as a community hub with safe, in-person interaction.
