Athens Creative Theatre has partnered with Hands In!, a nonprofit organization, to offer a 6-week American Sign Language (ASL) theatre course. Instructors teach members of the community to perform theatre and get more comfortable signing. Participants expressed their appreciation for such an inclusive program, and were excited by their new abilities to communicate in new ways with more people. The workshops are open to hearing, hard of hearing and deaf participants. The ASL workshop is held every Monday until Oct. 14 from 4-5 p.m. in Quinn Hall at Memorial Park.
