 Origami Flower Instructions

  • Making the Paper

    • Spray shaving cream so that it covers a rectangular pan.

    • Wipe the cream (using a rubber spatula or even an old credit card) so that it forms a flat surface.

    • Drop food coloring onto the surface of the shaving cream.

    • Swirl to create desired pattern.

    • Place the paper on the surface and let sit for a second or two.

    • Peel the paper off, and wipe any excess cream away. Let dry.

    • Cut the paper into squares.

  • Making the Flowers

    • Fold the square in half both vertically and horizontally.

    • Fold the corners in to form small triangles.

    • Fold in half vertically and horizontally once more.

    • Fold the corners in two more times.

    • Peel back each folded corner to make the petals.

  • Making the Stems

    • Take the straw and cut the tip into 3 or 4 sections.

    • Peel the sections out so that they lay flat.

    • Tape the sections onto the bottom of the flower.
